Merino wool stretch double knit fabric in a soft black (not ultra black). Fabric is fine-textured and feels soft and slightly dry to the touch. It is not super thick (similar to a typical cotton lycra), but is opaque on the skin. Due to the high stretch content, the reverse does look a little "shiny", especially when stretched. It drapes fairly well. Suitable for clothing such as long-sleeved tees, hoodies, turtlenecks, knit dresses, thinner knit pants such as culottes, menswear and kids wear. This is deadstock from an outdoor wear brand (click here to view all fabric from this brand). It can be machine-washed in cold water, but tumble drying is not recommended for longevity.
Wool is naturally odour-resistant, breathable, moisture-wicking (so it dries really quickly), and temperature-regulating. I personally can't wear regular sheeps wool, but I find the wool fabrics in the shop comfortable to wear and not scratchy at all - still, please buy with care if your skin is very sensitive.
