This is an unusual fabric comprising a fairly lightweight linen/cotton blend plain weave fabric with a thin clear coating on the right side - I'm not sure what the coating is made of, but it feels somewhat waxy and rubbery. The base linen/cotton fabric is not thick, perhaps around 140gsm or so. Fabric is somewhat water-resistant - water on the surfaces takes a few minutes to begin soaking in. The right side of the fabric is fairly smooth, while the reverse has a linen-y texture and dry hand-feel. It has some structure, but not much body or drape. Colour is a natural unbleached linen beige with some darker brown linen slubs, and it is almost opaque. I'm not sure what the fabric was originally intended for, but tablecloths, book covers, reusable bowl covers, storage caddies or home decor items come to mind. Might also be suitable for place mats, aprons, pouches, garment bags, hats or light outerwear. Please note this fabric has slight width-wise give, so it is not suitable for heavy-duty bags or totes.
Wipe clean or machine wash on the gentle cycle with cool water. Do not tumble dry.
