This is a pure hemp fabric which I am grouping with linen as they are very similar. Easily mistaken for linen, I find hemp to feel slightly "crunchier" and less smooth than linen, but, like linen, it softens more as you wash it (tumble drying not recommended though). This is a plain weave fabric in a slightly muted, warm tomato red colour, close-woven of slightly thicker yarns than average, opaque on the skin, with good body and drape. Has a very dry hand-feel. This particular fabric is not scratchy, but some may find it a bit rougher than they prefer for clothing. Others may find it suitable for clothing such as shorts, pants and outerwear, otherwise it is suited for bags, hats, crafts, soft furnishings and tablecloths.
